Background apps that may interfere with Auto-Bounce

Modified on Tue, 19 Aug at 10:26 AM

Some background utilities can interfere with Auto-Bounce and prevent it from running correctly. If you’re experiencing issues, check whether you have any of these installed and try disabling them temporarily:

? Apps Known to Cause Issues

  • Keyboard Maestro – Can override Auto-Bounce’s commands.

  • BetterTouchTool – Custom gestures/shortcuts may cause conflicts.

  • Magnet / Moom / Rectangle – Window managers that disrupt app focus.

  • Alfred / Raycast – Productivity launchers with automation features.

  • Hammerspoon – Advanced automation scripting engine.

  • Karabiner-Elements – Keyboard remapper that alters standard key behavior.

  • AppCleaner / CleanMyMac / MacKeeper – May remove required support files.

  • Little Snitch / Lulu – Firewalls that may block background operations.

  • Mac Mouse Fix / SteerMouse – Mouse remappers that interfere with dialog or cursor capture.

  • Clipboard Managers (e.g. Paste, Clipy) – Have caused unexpected behavior in some setups.

❓ Still Seeing Errors?

  1. Make sure you’ve carefully followed the README FIRST and Pre-Flight Checklist included in your Auto-Bounce folder.

  2. Confirm you’re running the latest version of Auto-Bounce: Download here.

  3. If the issue persists, please send us the following:

    • A copy of your Logic Project (stripped down if necessary).

    • The crash report file (not pasted text).

    • A screen recording showing the issue in real time (QuickTime recommended, not phone video).

Once we have these details, we can usually pinpoint the problem quickly.

✅ Quick Checklist: If Auto-Bounce Won’t Launch

  • Double-check the README FIRST and Pre-Flight Checklist.

  • Update to the latest version of Auto-Bounce.

  • Temporarily disable background utilities (see list above).
