Troubleshooting Automation & Communication Errors in Auto-Bounce
If you're experiencing communication errors like the 9050 error when using Auto-Bounce with Logic Pro, it's often due to interference from other apps or missing permissions at the macOS level. Below is a guide to help you identify potential conflicts and resolve them quickly.
? Confirm These macOS Permissions First:
Accessibility:
Go to System Settings > Privacy & Security > Accessibility
Make sure Auto-Bounce and Logic Pro are both listed and checked.
Automation:
Go to System Settings > Privacy & Security > Automation
Ensure Auto-Bounce is allowed to control Logic Pro.
Full Disk Access:
Go to System Settings > Privacy & Security > Full Disk Access
Add Auto-Bounce if it's not already there.
? Background Apps That May Interfere:
The following utilities are known to interfere with macOS inter-app communication, including Apple Events and Accessibility services. If you're using any of these, try disabling them temporarily and relaunching Auto-Bounce:
Keyboard Maestro – Automates input/output actions that can override Auto-Bounce commands.
BetterTouchTool – Custom gesture/shortcut tool that can hook into system events.
Magnet / Moom / Rectangle – Window managers that may disrupt app focus.
Alfred / Raycast – Productivity launchers with automation features.
Hammerspoon – Scripting engine for macOS automation.
Karabiner-Elements – Keyboard remapper that alters standard key behavior.
AppCleaner / CleanMyMac / MacKeeper – May remove key support or preference files.
Little Snitch / Lulu – Firewalls that can block background operations.
Mac Mouse Fix / SteerMouse – Mouse remappers that can interfere with dialog or cursor capture.
Clipboard Managers – Some apps like Paste or Clipy have caused unexpected behavior.
❓ Still Seeing Errors?
If you've double-checked permissions and disabled interfering utilities, but you're still seeing errors:
Make sure you’re using the latest version of Auto-Bounce (download the latest here: [https://www.auto-bounce.com/forum/downloads)
Send us the following:
The Logic Project (stripped-down if needed for confidentiality)
The crash report (as a file, not copied text)
A video screen recording showing the issue in real time. Please use capture software, like Quictime, not a phone video.
We're here to help—and once we have those details, we can usually pinpoint and resolve the issue quickly.
