Incorrect Bounce Range or “Ticks” Warning

Modified on Tue, 19 Aug at 10:37 AM

In earlier versions of Logic and Auto-Bounce, some users encountered a warning about “Ticks” or noticed Auto-Bounce bouncing a slightly different cycle range than expected. This usually happens when the project or cycle range does not end on an even bar.

The good news: in the latest versions of Auto-Bounce, this issue is much less common. But if you do see the warning, here’s how to fix it.

Step 1: Change the Clock Format

Switch Logic’s clock display to the 4-segment format so you can clearly see bars, beats, divisions, and ticks:

  • Logic 10.7.x: Logic Pro → Settings → Display

  • Logic 10.8.x and later: Logic Pro → Settings → View

Step 2: Adjust Your Project End Marker

Make sure your project length and cycle range end on an even bar.

  • In Logic 10.7.x, the tick field should end on “1.”

  • In Logic 10.8.x and later, the tick field should end on “0.”

Tip: Always place your project end marker as close as possible to the actual end of your music. This not only prevents warnings but also speeds up bouncing.
